These prices are nuts. Goes up every year. My parents love soccer, but can't afford $85 dollar passes and I have alot of brothers and sisters just over 16 years of age ... so full price for them too. It's cheaper to play cause atleast you get into the final for free. I don't know if this is good for people coming out to watch. Without alcohol even less people will come. I doubt my parents who have came all the previous years will be able to make it this year. I don't come from a family with money.

Wow, that puts a lot of it into perspective actually. Two parents, two siblings, and that's a $400 expense. That is a LOT of money.

What was the tourney pass last year? $75?

I think they should offer the tournament pass at a way lower cost. More people would purchase them, they'd get more fans out, and they'd still make the same money. They also offered a 10-day package last year, didn't they?

And with no alcohol, you can guarantee there's going to be issues. That should be the top priority right now.

So seriously after player fees sponsors/TV, beginning and ending cabaret, and admission fees. How much money you think is made off this tourney. 30000?? Im talking profit here. Its one hell of a tournament, but its gonna scare more people away having to pay that much. This tourney has went from promoting soccer to nothing but a way to make more and more money.

Yeah, it went up from $75 to $85 this year. I think for people with families, they should offer a good rate so that everyone in the family can come watch. Like maybe a package for 2 adults and 2 kids, or 2 adults and 3 kids. Some kind of discount if you are buying for that many people. My family in the same boat as the person who left the above post. My family can't afford to come. It's unfortunate. They are very much in love with the game of soccer too.

Clock Cleaner, be advised. I have reported you to the Regina City Police and they are investigating this blog. You may be contacted. Handing out free money and not disclosing who you are is not legal. Your discalimer doesn't cover this matter. Thank you, and wish you all the best. I would recommend you disclose to people who are you, and some form of contact number so people have the chance to phone and talk to you. You can't take information from people and not disclose who you are. Especially when your bracket asks for people's phone numbers and personal information. You need to do the same.

I'll be following up with the police on this matter.

By the way ... I hope alcohol is not allowed at the tournament this year. I don't need my kids sitting around with a bunch of drunk idiots, swearing, and not being respectful. I'll be bringing the matter up with Kevin. I hope alcohol banned. You druken messes can go up to the hockey area and watch from the blocked windows. Thank god.

Nothing wrong with enjoying a beverage and watching some soccer.

If you don't serve alcohol people will get blasted before the games and be sneaking in booze no way you can fight it.

sucks to be you if your a rider fan and want to bring your kids to a game, cuz people drink at sports games and they can get a lil rowdy and thats the atmosphere, this is Canada, not NORTH KOREA

Annon @ 1:02 ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME

Annon @ 1:04 Give me a break, 99% of the people are not a bunch of drunk idiots at the games. People like you who are going to ruin this great tournament

Whoever made the last 2 posts has some real issues. First off if you aren't comfortable giving out your information for some meaningless bracket, than dont do it!! Secondly about the beer situation, you must be one of those people that never has any fun. Stop being old & miserable and trying to ruin the tourney for everyone else.

Why is there always someone who has to have an issue. Really there is no effect on you so relax.

The above commenter is referring to the ANON 1:02 and ANON 1:04 comments...just to clarify.

should be cheaper for weekdays when there is less games..

Just to clarify... I'm not some punk kid...If I see anyone swearing around anyones kids this year, or anything inappropriate I'll make it my personal problem to solve it. Alcohol or not. Can't wait for this tournament to start. I may have myself some fun in the stands. All the parents with kids agree with me. THE SHIT STOPS THIS YEAR.

When CC get some kinda of punishment i'll be happy. Hate the guy. He some pumk kid I bet in his 20's. As for alcohol, I'M ALL FOR NOT HAVING IT. You pricks swear and cause shit while kids are around. If I see that this year, I'm not going to hesitate to say something and or GET IN YOUR FACE. I'd love for some punk drunk idiot to take a swing at me or attempt to say something back. That's the last thing he be doing I tell ya, I garantee that. Hope you guys keep your mouths shut and stop the swearing around kids, the loud unnecessary comments keep it to yourself. Enjoy your (edited) beverage, watch the game in a civil manner.

haha this is funny. Some adult is gunna get in some "punk kids" face. Real Mature. Also despite what you think, your children are exposed to swearing, violence and all that bad stuff everywhere TV, School, Sports in general. Try telling soccer fans across the world they cant have a drink and watch a match. You should get alcohol banned in every sport. Not!! Good Luck.
However I do agree that some stuff is overboard but there is no point in getting charged with something because of words. Try being the bigger person.
Why are people so sensitive???

Are you the same guy who's calling the police on me?
What kind of insane person goes and calls the police on a harmless amateur soccer blog?

Where do you get the idea that I'm a punk kid in my 20's? Because I want to watch games and have a beer? Listen, I've been in the stands since this tourney has been at the facility. There's very little swearing, if any. No one is screaming obscenities in anyone's ear. If anyone becomes unruly, security will escort them out. It's the same at any sporting event in Regina. Have you ever been to a U of R game? A Pats game? Any event at all? I'm just sorry Kevin has to deal with someone like you.

Coming on here and threatening to fight anyone who swears is ridiculous. Contrary to what you think, the majority of people CAN and do enjoy a beer without starting a fight.

I'm with CC on this one...banning all booze is just throwing the baby out with the bath water. Booze is not the problem here...assholes are the problem. I have never met a person that is prime and proper until they get a beer in their hands and only then do they swear like a sailor. Do people swear a little more or get more aggressive when they are drunk? Sure they do, but those cases are few and far between from what I've seen at this tournament. I've played in this thing since 2007 and when my team isn't playing I'm watching most of the games and I've rarely seen anything overly offensive...sure a little swearing, but I've heard just as much from sober people as I have from the drunks.

There is typically security at this event somewhere... if you have an issue talk to them about it.

Bunch of games on the weekend (like 5 or 6 men's games)...any catch the scores?

Dear Concerned Parent or whoever you are,

Have you ever been to a professional soccer game? ill answer that, NO you havent.. Because clearly you have no idea what the atmosphere is like at those games... Whether or not this is an amateur tournament, every person who loves soccer, would agree, that reciprocating these professional atmospheres only add to the uniqueness of this tournament. Threatening to fight ppl on a blog, what a joke, wow.. I love how your complaining (and by complaining i mean taking it to the police) about the clock cleaner not identifying himself, yet you formally threaten ppl ("punks") anonymously, saying you will deal with them if they swear.. AHAHAHAH. makes me chuckle not gonna lie. Not to mention your a hypocrite. its ppl like you that ruin soccer in regina, its people like you that prevent soccer from growing...(edit- don't curse to just to incite this guy)
just a question; whens swearing become an issue, cause ive been in this tournament now since it started and its never been a prevalent issue?? Please enlighten me concerned parent.

This parent must have been a pure hooligan back in the day.

Anonymous said...

I think you should all ignore the idiot....I'm going to be throwing some swears around the stands now just looking for this idiot

Anonymous said...

What is even wrong with swearing? Chances are that your little boy or little girl is swearing behind your back... and also, this guy who is the "swear police" has probably swore around his kids before. Can't we all just be mature? I understand what someone said, someone yelling obsenities is annoying, I find it wrong also, but I have never heard someone swearing in this manner at wcp, especially with alcahol.
