Preview A Pool: Group B

Group B

Laos
Nigeria
Chile
Saudi Arabia
Botswana

Laos finally gets out of the group of death, and promptly gets placed in the easiest group this year. Laos should easily dominate this group, while the rest battle it out for second. Laos is far more skilled than the rest of the teams in this group. We should see Chile and Saudi Arabia fighting for second.

Prediction: Laos will dominate this easy group, and in all likelihood, the game between Chile and Saudi Arabia will decide who goes through in second. Chile is not as good as last year, and the newcomers Saudi Arabia can beat them if they play well. In finishing order: Laos, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Nigeria, Botswana. Don't be surprised if Nigeria or Botswana upset Chile or Saudi Arabia.

Game To Watch: Chile vs. Saudi Arabia. It will likely decide who goes through.

Why is it everytime someone makes a note about saudi they always have excuses for there loses, all you shiat teams that are below par always have an excuse, just face it u suck and you will never be any good

so Nigeria played Portugal last night and lost 4-0...shocking result as Nigeria was able to beat Scotland last week. Nigeria as a whole looked very unorganized on they're attack. They could blame it on the fact that they didn't have they're Saskatoon players which clearly helped them in the game against Scotland. Hopefully Nigeria gets it together before the tournament starts or its goodbye second round again this year.

Haha Gerald your funny..shocking result?

So of all the players that you (and that applies to any that read this) have seen in this tournament and/or otherwise...who would you have as your starting line up for an All-Star Squad?

Alright well assuming were playing a 3-3-2 formation with a goalie.

GK: Tristan Manz(France): A proven goalie in this tournament who can make game-deciding saves, IF he wants to.

LB: Mark Wernikowski(ROI): One of the better shutdown defenders in the tournament, who can push up the field and create opportunities.

CB: Mike Veszi(Laos): A very skilled, steady defender who keeps balls out of his team's half, and into the opposing half.

RB: Benno Looft(Ukraine): A master of the deadball, can score from anywhere past his own half, but can track back to provide shutdown defense.

LM: Adam Rolfe(ES): Arguably one of the most skilled players in the tournament, has a great left foot and provides a scoring threat from the midfield.

CM: Kevin Holness(Jamaica): I know he has lost his shape a bit, but can change the pace of the game in a second, and is a great playmaker.

RM: Jiyu Iida(Laos): A very pacy player on the wing, has all the skill to attack and is a major scoring threat.

ST: Jay Tomchuck(ROI): Most dangerous player in the tournament who can play the hitman role to score, but has the ability to explode and beat players whenever he wants.

ST: Brett Bachelu(France): Has probably scored the most goals in WCP history. Has a great shot and can score or set up goals with ease.

Manager: Pancho Bravo(Laos): Has really brought Laos together as a team and turned them into a major contender. Probably one of the best coaches to scout another team and shut them down.

Now I may take some heat for my picks but that's what the list is there for..critism. Lets hear it!

Special One

not bad picks special one but benno doesnt play right back, you want him in the centre and switch with veszi, and I wouldnt put Jiyu on my team he dives around the field, I would put Brendan Garrity(ROI) or Shane Olgive(Jamaica)

Da_Bomb said...

so you wouldnt put jiyu on your team cause he dives? would you put cristiano ronaldo on your team? he dives, alot. im not saying jiyu is as good as cristiano ronaldo, at all, but he is a great player to play with. best winger in the tournament.

scott.myrah said...

Yes so what if Jiyu dives. He has stood out in this tournament in the past couple years and become an elite player. I think another player who could have been put in was Yianni Harbis in the middle, but i settled with Kevin.

i'd agree with foxbox and put garrity on one of the wings. I would also put josh northey on the other wing, with honorable mentions to adam and scott myrah.

Its hard to disagree with Kevin in the middle. He hardly runs but he is still the best.

ya, "special one" if anything you are the "special kiss ass one" ya kevin was or is great but really he hasnt played in a consistantly in 2 yrs. how can you put a player in your "all star team" if anything special one, your probably one of those people that watch games in the stands and goes, "oh hes good, ya" moron.

better than you said...

how come no saudi players are on the all star team hmmm? they are all really good and passionate.. haha.

We'll talk on the field. you way are too small and your comments are worthless to pay attention to.

better than you said...

are you disagreeing with me saying that the all star team on here was accurate? i'm just trying to promote your team. don't have to get all negative with me

I do agree on putting out an all star team for this years WCP Cup but I do think that it is way too early to be putting out who goes where and everything cuz the tournament hasnt even begun. So its good but we should wait and see who we all should be from the games that are going to be given to all of us to watch from every team especially from this group and group D!

I think by the second wknd of games throughout the tournament maybe we could be picking out our all star team. But not right now i just think that it is way too early to be picking players as all stars right now.

Not saying its a bad thing but im just putting my wording into it but you all can say what you want but im just putting it out there.

Cheers!

Emmanuel is agile for a big boy but he aint got no soccer skillz no mo, but he still is fast as hell and still very athletic, But someone that is a great striker and that is a great soccer player overall can always beat an overall athlete in this sport.

Kier said...

your right...but how many "great" strikers are there in Nigeria's pool??
