New Teams and Folding Teams

Teams have already started to have the occasional practice, so it's time to start preparing if you're looking for a team. The format will have the same number of teams as last year (20), and many teams already have many roster spots filled, so get going if you haven't already.

Big News: This year it looks like El Salvador will not have a team. El Salvador won the first WCP cup and made it to the final the next year before losing to the Republic of Ireland. Their fan support was outstanding and the team will be missed. While it is not for certain that there is no team, unless there is a huge turnaround, El Salvador will not have a team.

Rumors: There have also been rumors that the Republic of Ireland is also apparently having roster problems, but it's just a rumor and nothing more at this point.

Columbia will be submitting a team this year, which will likely comprise many El Salvador players if the team folds. Hopefully the fans for El Salvador could get behind Columbia's team.

It is also possible that there will be a team France, but again, just a rumor.

It's funny how many people diss the ES players even though I'm gettin emails and phone calls from every team in the tourney to come play for them and I played for the ES team. I am not even in the same category as Ronnie Torres I can just imagine how many teams are trying to get him on the team. Typical clowns talk shit but would love to have the skill on their side.

I wonder where all the ES players are all goin to play? If a good majority of them play for Colombia that would be pretty dumb

i don't think that would be dumb. why wouldn't they play for colombia if they have south american heritage? it's not like they were all from el salvador to start with

We were all from ES, except Danny and the black dude.

lie. dion and what about that big white dude.

ok so that makes four that were not from ES that`s still a huge difference then most teams in the tournament and chris (big white dude) played one game cause three of our guys got injured then he stopped cause we couldnt pick up players in the middle of the tourney

I cannot believe that Greece and Germany are among the 7 teams to choose from. I think that is whack, Germany will probably never be contenders anymore they have too many attitudes that get in the way of playing a good soccer game. And Greece, well they will probably always make it to the next round I don't think they will ever win it. Jamaica should win it soon, they have been very consistent at finishing second and third that last two times I think they will win 2008. Also, I hope Nigeria can better this year but they need to be more organized and stop using the team as some popularity contest and just play the sport. People always underestimate Portugal, they will eb strong, in fact I think they will be in the final, or at least have a good chance of making it, they play as a team well, like Greece which makes them hard to predict. I won't say anything about Rep. Of Ireland because they are talented, but without Lea it might be interesting, and Norway will be very strong contenders, might even give a nice run for a repeat winner. I would like to see Scotland make it into the next round they keep missing by just a hair, it doesn't seem fair I hope for them to make the quarters. Laos, I hope you can put your money where your mouth is again this year, and come out strong. And I guess Canada, the team that was not supposed to make it past the round robin both years, and made it to the finals the first, and finished 5th the last year. New Coach, new younger players I think they might turn a few heads again.

Anyway good luck to all teams and I am eager to see what everyone brings this year.

Oh El Salvador stop crying and just put a team in for Christ Sake.
