Day 2 Recap

Day 2 was relatively uneventful, but the matchup between Germany and el Salvador kicked off group D with a bang. I didn't attend any games today, but from what i heard Germany thoroughly deserved the win of 4-3. Apparently two of el Salvador's goals were due to miscommunication between Germany's goalie and the defence.

Nigeria played Botswana and won 3-2. That's the extent of my knowledge about that game.

Chile also played Italy. I'm guessing Chile won

Day 3 will be action-packed with every game being one that could determine who's coming out of that pool. Laos and England start it up at 6, followed by Austria and Serbia(Austria looks to gain back some dignity after a beating provided by Ireland).
Canada then looks to regain its former glory and remain in the hunt for a playoff spot by playing Northern Ireland. Portugal takes on Scotland at 9 in what should a barnburner of a game, and Germany takes on Greece to cap off the evening.
Should be a fun-filled night.

do you not know the rules, ben broke a kids noise yesturday and only got a yellow should havebeen a red, then he runs in to a pushing match at 100mph and says hes going to kill someone thats should of been a red but the ref only gave him two yellows hes lucky its only one game he got and not 3 or 5 before you pick on the refs rad a rule book it will help you out

before you make comments like that you should know your information. First off, when does winning a 50-50 ball deserve a red card? is ben not allowed to go into tackles just as hard as everyone else?
And about his second yellow.. what did he do? go running across the field? he didn't threaten anyone, he didn't even make it to the area where all the shinanigans was occuring. if anyone else on the field would have run across, they wouldn't have been carded. and is he not allowed to come to the defense of his teammates? i don't think you'd stand around and watch your team get pushed around. its bullshit that just because of ben's backround and what hes done in the past gets used against him when he hasn't played soccer for 3 years.

50 50 ball and some one comes out with a broken nose and a slight concussion....... umh sounds like a fair challenge to me. And he did come in saying I going to kill you everyone in the stands could hear him and the RULES say "Intent" to injure wether it is done or not is up to the refferees discretion and I am sorry but Ben made his own bed and why wouldn't that come into account? Two yellows is nothing would you have preffered a staright red? lets see one game or 10 .......

i was sitting right infront when ben got his second yellow and i heard everything he said. Not once did the words "i'm" or "kill you" come up. stop the fucking rumours.

It was disappointing becasue the injured player - Mcfadden - is a bright young talent. There are both sides to the injury. It sucks to ahve someone hurt and someone suspended. I was very surprised with teh Italy result! Lets hope they keep up the good play, maybe give Ireland a run?
Go Luca Toni

Norway's game wasn't too bad last night. Poland didnt put up too much of a fight. Norway was just more fit and scored some decent goals, besides the one off the corner kick! I think both teams had the jitters. Here's to better soccer being played during the week!

Good to have the first game under the belt for Norway. Thats the same number of wins as last year. Everyone should be prepared to see more of the same

You got to feel bad for the kid who got the concussion, but on Ben's left peck there was an imprint of the kids head . If you go into a 50/50 half hearted you are going to get hurt. He will know for next time to go in hard or not go in at all!

Ben is a great player in my opinion, however, the first 50/50 was a bad elbow. the "kill u stuff" is a rumour, Reff said he saw a punch coming from ben, no one really knows. I think his reputation got to him. But again if was him, I'd try to re-establish the reputation. I think he figured it out by shaving the mostash (if thats how you spell it.lol). damn ben, you looked scary in that mustash brotha. lol. too bad for the kid with the concusion but shit happens. In the Refs corner, Hanz and Jimmy have been the greatest so far. Other refs are ok but scared of making the hard decisions some-times. One thing for sure, this WCP cup has been the best.
