Best Chance of Advancing Ranking

which team has the best chance to advance its ranking from last year? If you take into account the difficulty of the groups, there's a couple teams that can really improve their standing. The most notable would have to be Laos. Their team is a lot different and if they can make it out of the group stage....well anything is an improvement from last year. They are pretty good and it's too bad they got stuck in such a hard group. Any other group and they would make it out for sure. England also had a bad tourney last year and will really be a contender this year IF they can make it out of that death group. Norway, after beating Ireland in an exhibition match, also seems like a legitimate contender. Although it was a tryout and more of a practice for Ireland, they should still make it out of their group and advance their standing into the top 7 or 8.

Just to let you know that norway was missing a couple of there star players,

Anonymous said...

like who?

Yes I know Ireland were missing a few of the best players in the whole tournament. Who was Norway missing?

Anonymous said...

two players from the u 18 pumas team who won provincials also two players from the arcas mens team, so there two star players as well as two plyers that should be stars

norway can't win when it matters.. they have an easy pool but in the knockout stage they will not go far... not enough depth.. even with the so called star players they were missing

what do you mean they cant win when it matters, they were in the pool of death last year and if the rules were like they are this year norway would have made it threw to the next round, we will see at the tourny are deep norway is and how deep they will go.

Agai it has to be reiterated that Norway owon only one game last year. To say if the rules were different you would have gone farther is stupid. Alot of teams would have done better if they awarded points for not winning.

botswana all the way they are much stronger than everyone

Anonymous said...

botswana couldnt make a combination pass if there lives depended on it

norway would have made it to the second round if the rules were the same as this year they would have finished second in there pool

Anonymous said...

So if the rules were different Norway would have made it? That is the stupidest reasoning I have ever heard

Anonymous said...

the top two teams of each pool make it threw this year right, last year it was just the top eight, norway didnt lose a game, and finished tenth, but if it was the top two teams that go threw norway would have made it threw correct, so i have no idea how that is the stupidest thing you ever heard unless ur a complete idoit!

But those weren't the rules last year you moron.

i think its funny that you spelled idiot wrong. I guess it worked out last year that teams were better then you, because teams that won more then 1 game moved on. If you don't win more then 1 game, your not a very good team.

true dat

no response for that norway? if you were a good team you'd probably have a response... or do you agree that if you don't win more then 1 game your not a good team.

let's keep in mind norway was in the pool of death last year.

Settle this once in for all with a blog worth noting. Norway will advance farther this year. Wins against Ireland in exhibition are legit. Ireland may have told you they were having tryouts but that is CRAP. This team goes and stacks their team with too many premier players then whines and makes excuses when they lose. Their players from ACFC army who everyone knows whined in teh premier league two when Norway's ac pumas players walked all over them. See the trend...last year is over. Norway didnt play well, but they still got jipped. NO MORE LEIGH SEMBALUK. That spells Ireland's loss. Might I say that Norway has the best midfield in the tournament.

Laos will jump up a lot of positions. They ALSO have a lot of teh ac pumas players.
Go Scotland!

norway has the best midfield?
surely you jest.

there are at least 5 teams with better midfields than norway.
ireland WAS having tryouts during that exhibition, so you'll have to accept that.
ireland will let their play speak for them during this tournament, as they retake the crown and norway loses in the first round

im sorry to say this but the monday before the tourny that was no tryout and you only bet norway 2-1 and the one goal was kinda a hand ball, but who cares, and to say norway is not going to make it out of there pool is a joke!

There is no kidding around. Norway has one of the strongest teams and will prove it. To say that they will not advance out of the first round is absurd. Their pool is fairly easy and they are GOOD. Those exhibition games and the comments made on tehm failed to point out that Norway was missing some of their star players...and they make a HUGE difference.

no more leigh sembaluk? from what i've seen... he is playing for ireland.. where did you get your mis-information from?

haha norway is awful

if ukraine beats them today, they're out, and even if norway can beat them, they still might not make it out. Canada demolished them, even though the score was only 3-2.

If norway wins, it'll go to goals for, and norway will have to kick the remaining teams 8-0 to go through
